Marty Gobin

B.S.L.S., LL.B., LL.M., Barrister & Solicitor, Partner

Marty has years of 202 experience in trials, appellate matters, and judicial reviews in civil and criminal litigation before the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, Small Claims Court, and Ontario Court of Justice.  He also has experience with administrative tribunals including the Landlord and Tenant Board, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Ontario Land Tribunal, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Ontario Civilian Police Commission, municipal committees of adjustment, and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.  In addition, he writes about the law and teaches it at colleges and universities.  His articles on legal subjects have appeared in Canadian Lawyer Magazine, Law360 Canada (formerly The Lawyer’s Daily), the Toronto Sun, and the Ottawa Citizen.  He has taught a constitutional law course at Ontario Tech University’s legal studies program as well as numerous courses at George Brown College’s Law Society-accredited paralegal licensing program.  He is a past Chair of the Property Standards Committee of the City of Oshawa, responsible for hearing appeals under the Building Code Act, 1992.

Olga Leyenson

B.S.L.A., Licensed Paralegal, Managing Partner

Olga has over 24 years experience representing clients before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, Small Claims Court, Landlord and Tenant Board, Ontario Court of Justice, and the Assessment Review Board.  Since 2018, Olga has been teaching and is a part-time faculty member at George Brown College’s Law Society-accredited paralegal licensing program, where she is both an instructor and the Program Lead, instructing in courses such as Residential Tenancies Law, Small Claims Court, and Advocacy, among others.  She is a contributing author for Communication and Writing for Paralegals, 2nd Edition, as well as Ethics and Professional Practice for Paralegals, 6th edition used in accredited paralegal licensing programs at colleges across the Province of Ontario.  She is well-versed in legal issues as they relate to human rights litigation, including responding to human rights-related allegations against landlords by residential tenants, and was a volunteer member of the City of Oshawa’s Accessibility Advisory Committee from 2020 to 2022, as well as the recipient of Her Late Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Award from the office of the Member of Parliament for the Conservative Party of Oshawa for her services to the community.

Kimberly Lahtinen-Horenburg

Kimberly received a diploma in Paralegal Studies from Durham College, for which she received honours for high academic performance.  She has paralegal experience both as a sole practitioner and subsequently an associate at Gobin & Leyenson LLP, in relation to civil litigation before the Small Claims Court, residential tenancy law, and human rights.  She represents clients before the various courts and tribunals, in Ontario, with a focus on contract disputes and employment law before the Small Claims Court, human rights litigation, and landlord advocacy representation at the Landlord and Tenant Board.
