Olga Leyenson

Olga Leyenson is a Partner and Licensed Paralegal at Gobin & Leyenson LLP with more than 25 years of experience in legal services. Her practice focuses on Ontario residential tenancy law and Small Claims Court litigation, with particular experience representing residential landlords before the Landlord and Tenant Board.

Olga’s residential tenancy practice includes eviction and non-eviction proceedings, complex Landlord and Tenant Board matters, and Above Guideline Increase (AGI) applications. She assists landlords and property managers with AGI matters involving eligible capital expenditures and other permitted grounds for above-guideline rent increases, including strategic analysis, application preparation, disclosure, tenant objections, Case Management Hearings, and representation before the Landlord and Tenant Board.

Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario since 2008, Olga has extensive experience representing clients before the Landlord and Tenant Board and Ontario Small Claims Court. Her practice combines strategic advocacy, legal research, and practical litigation experience in matters affecting residential landlords throughout Ontario.

In addition to her legal practice, Olga has taught in the Law Society-accredited Paralegal Education Program at George Brown College since 2018, including courses in Residential Tenancies, Small Claims Court, and Advocacy.

Olga is a contributing author to Communication and Writing for Paralegals, 2nd Edition and Ethics and Professional Practice for Paralegals, 6th Edition. Most recently, she revised and updated Small Claims Court: Procedure and Practice, 6th Edition for Emond Publishing.

Her professional experience as a practitioner, educator, and author provides a perspective grounded in both the practical application of Ontario law and the ongoing study of legislative, procedural, and case law developments.

Olga has also served her community as a volunteer member of the City of Oshawa Accessibility Advisory Committee from 2020 to 2022 and was a recipient of a Platinum Jubilee recognition for her contributions to the community.
